  • $40 / month for Lansing Residents (Youth Ages 16-17 and Adults)

taijutsu (open handed)

The building blocks of Aikido technique are centered around Taijutsu Kihon Waza (hand-to-hand basic technique). Typically involving joint manipulation, pinning, and throwing.

bokken (sword)

Bokken (wooden sword) mimics the Japanese Katana, and is used to compliment Aikido open handed technique. Bokken is used in Kata form and partner practice.

jo (staff)

Jo (wooden staff) is fashioned similar to a walking stick, is very versatile in its use, and also compliments Aikido open handed technique. Jo is used in Kata form and partner practice.
